Katharina Moch

Katharina Moch wurde 1980 in Villingen geboren. Nach dem Abitur machte sie eine Goldschmiedelehre, die sie als Beste der Handwerkskammer abschloss.

2002–2007 studierte sie Kunst und Englisch an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Freiburg. Nach dem Referendariat wurde sie zum Masterstudium für Jewellery, Silversmithing and Related Products in Birmingham zugelassen und schloss 2009 das Studium mit Auszeichnung ab.

Katharina Moch gewann mehrere Stipendien und Preise, wie zum Beispiel das "Louisa Anne Ryland Scholarship", den "Stone setting award of the British Jewellers’ Association" und eine Belobigung beim "Young talent prize of the WCC Europe". 2015 war sie Artist in Residence in Idar Oberstein.

Ihre ungewöhnlichen und provokanten Objekte sind in Ausstellungen weltweit zu sehen, zum Beispiel: "Radical Craft" in Berlin, "Suspended in Green" in Sydney, "Magic City" in San Francisco, "La Frontera" in Ciudad de México, "Cominelli Foundation Award Exhibition" in Cisano di San Felice del Benaco or "The European Triennial for Contemporary Jewellery" in Mons und "Silbertriennale International" um nur einige zu nennen.

Seit 2010 lebt und arbeitet sie in Konstanz.

Katharina Moch was born in Villingen. After completing school she did a three year goldsmithing apprenticeship (awarded 1st place chamber of crafts).

2002–2007 she studied Art and English at the University in Freiburg. After finishing her teachers’ training she went to Birmingham for an MA in Jewellery, Silversmithing and Related Products and successfully graduated (with Distinction) in 2009.

Katharina Moch got several awards and scholarships like for example the "Louisa Anne Ryland Scholarship", the "stone setting award of the British Jewellers’ Association" and a special commendation for the "young talent prize of the WCC Europe". In 2015 she was Artist in Residence in Idar Oberstein.

Her provocative and unusual objects can be seen all around the world – they have been part of exhibitions like "Radical Craft" in Berlin, "Suspended in Green" in Sydney, "Magic City" in San Francisco, "La Frontera" in Ciudad de México, "Cominelli Foundation Award Exhibition" in Cisano di San Felice del Benaco or "The European Triennial for Contemporary Jewellery" in Mons and "Silbertriennale International" to name a few.

Since 2010 she has been living and working in Konstanz.
